Holography and Unquenched Quark-Gluon Plasmas
We employ the string/gauge theory correspondence to study properties of strongly coupled quark-gluon plasmas in thermal gauge theories with a large number of colors and flavors. In particular, we analyze non-critical string duals of conformal (S)QCD, as well as ten dimensional wrapped fivebrane duals of SQCD–like theories. We study general properties of the dual plasmas, including the drag forc...
متن کاملNNLO Unquenched Calculation of the b Quark Mass
By combining the first unquenched lattice computation of the B-meson binding energy and the two-loop contribution to the lattice HQET residual mass, we determine the MS b-quark mass, mb(mb). The inclusion of the two-loop corrections is essential to extract mb(mb) with a precision of O(ΛQCD/mb), which is the uncertainty due to the renormalon singularities in the perturbative series of the residu...
متن کاملUnquenched Simulations with N F = 2 Light Quark Flavours
The quark mass dependence of meson masses and decay constants in Nf = 2 QCD is studied at a fixed gauge coupling with different dynamical quark masses. Partially Quenched Wilson Chiral Perturbation Theory (PQWχPT) is applied to obtain the extrapolation to zero quark mass. It is shown, that in our analysis NNLOterms play a more important rôle than O(a)-terms, which can be neglected. Also we comp...
متن کاملEstimating the Unquenched Strange Quark Mass from the Lattice Axial Ward Identity
We present a determination of the strange quark mass for two flavours (nf = 2) of light dynamical quarks using the axial Ward identity. The calculations are performed on the lattice usingO(a) improved Wilson fermions and include a fully non-perturbative determination of the renormalisation constant. In the continuum limit we findm s (2GeV) = 111(6)(4)(6)MeV, using the force scale r0 = 0.467 fm,...
متن کاملAn unquenched lattice QCD calculation of the mass of the bottom quark
We compute the b quark mass from dynamical lattice QCD with clover quarks. The calculation is done at a fixed lattice spacing with sea quark masses as low as half the strange quark mass. Our final result is m b (m b) = 4.25(2)(11) GeV, where the first error is statistical and the last error is the systematic uncertainty.
